Make Hook & Loop Tape Stick Again In 4 Easy Steps

Hook & loop tape is great, but when it loses its “stickiness” it can be very frustrating. As a build-up of debris occurs it becomes difficult for the hook and loop mechanism to function properly. Fortunately, there is a way of fixing that problem. You’ll need another piece of Hook & loop tape, metal toothpick, pet brush, antistatic spray and to follow the following 4 steps:

  • Step 1: place the Hook & loop tape based item on a flat surface, with the Hook & loop tape facing upwards.
  • Step 2: use the pet brush to physically remove dirt and debris from the Hook & loop tape by combing. Then place the other strip of Hook & loop tape on top and detach – repeat this several times to remove as much unwanted dirt as possible from the original strip.
  • Step 3: the toothpick can now be used to accurately remove any dirt that is still in the original Hook & loop tape strip.
  • Step 4: the last step is to spray antistatic spray to increase the difficulty with which future dirt is going to accumulate.
