3 No-Sew Craft Projects
Crafting is a fun family activity and a relaxing way to show off your creativity. But how many times have you sat down to start a project, only to realize that it requires a sewing machine or another piece of equipment you don’t have? Get creative with these three craft projects that don’t require a sewing machine.
Textile Wall Art
Bare walls are no fun to look at, but purchasing high-quality artwork gets expensive quickly. Fortunately, even if you’re no drawing or painting expert, you can make textile wall art.
Gather a few artist’s panels and some eye-catching fabric scraps with neat patterns or bright colors. Spray the panels with adhesive, and attach a piece of fabric to each. Add a few staples around the back to hold the fabric in place, and hang your artwork on the wall.
Custom Window Coverings
Give any room a personal touch with custom window coverings. Simply measure the window and cut a piece of fabric about 2 inches larger. Fold about a half inch of each edge on itself, and use hook and loop tape to hold the fabric in place. You’ll easily hide any uneven cuts, and you’ll have a set of curtains for a fraction of the cost of what you’d pay in the store.
Pocket T-Shirt
If your wardrobe feels too tame, add a little flair in the form of a pocket T-shirt. Grab a basic tee, cut a pocket from a scrap piece of fabric, and ready the fabric glue. Apply fabric glue to the new pocket, place it carefully on your T-shirt, and wear your new garment proudly.
